College Connection

College Connection is our primary ministry to the college students in fellowship with our congregation. While the changes and learning of the college years can be great, they can also be a time spent in limbo between youth and adulthood. We try to keep our college students aware of the love and Grace that has brought them this far and will continue to be with them throughout their lives. To help them know that this part of their lives is constant, College Connection matches each college student with an adult church member or family to keep in touch with them all year, and hopefully, form a lasting bond. Contact leaders Danette Grim and Cindy Zientek for more information. If you are a college student or the parent of a college student, please provide us with the student’s college address and e-mail so that he/she can remain connected.  And if you’d like to help College Connection bless our students, please provide us with your name and contact information.

Our college students living locally and those home on breaks form an integral part of the life of our congregation – serving in different ministries, worshipping and fellowshipping, learning and sharing the gospel.  These students have been actively involved with our musical groups, leadership in youth and after school programs, service on our welcoming and technical support teams, individual and group mission trips, etc.

The United Methodist Church provides opportunities for eligible undergraduate students to receive college scholarship awards and student loans.  Many of our Grace Church students have benefited from this financial assistance over the years as they’ve pursued their higher education. Financial assistance is also often available for students pursuing graduate degrees in theological studies and other ministry-related fields. These scholarship and loan programs are partially supported by our annual Student Day offerings.    Click the icon above for more detailed information on scholarship and loan programs.
